The Jackson Local School District is definitely a school district that anyone can be proud of. Located in Massillon, Ohio the district consists of 4 elementary buildings, one of which was newly constructed only a few years ago, that serve students in grades K-5, a middle school that serves over 1,300 students in grades 6-8 and a high school, with a newly completed addition, that has over 1,800 students in grades 9-12.
The Jackson Local School District is one of the top 20 highest performing school districts in the state of Ohio. This school district has rated “Excellent” for eight consecutive years, which is the only one of Stark County’s 17 schools districts that have this achievement. Jackson High School is ranked in the nation’s top 5% of high schools by Newsweek for the past 3 years which is the only Stark County school to make this list.
Jackson Local Schools also has pre-school programs for students with special needs, including autism. In addition to offering a four-year arts program, career and technical programs are offered as well. Jackson High School has a graduation rate of 99.8% with over 87% of those students seeking higher education.

According to the article below, Canton is much more than that place that has the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It turns out, not surprisingly to me, that Canton is among the top 5 most affordable housing markets in the nation. Not far ahead of Canton is our neighbor to the north, Akron.
The following article states that the influx of first time buyers has caused a surge in second time “move-up” buyers looking for a good deal. The average Stark County home is only a fraction of the cost of California home. Not to mention our living expenses are considerably lower. The luxurious homes in Jackson , Perry, and Plain Townships surrounding Canton are low priced compared to anywhere. With all the things northeast Ohio can offer, it’s a great place for people to move looking to upgrade their lives and spend the least amount doing it!

Although I am based out of Canton, Ohio. I find myself doing business in Massillon just as often. While Canton and Massillon might be football rivals, they are somewhat similar communities. Massillon features many wonderful neighborhoods, places of business, fantastic parks, great restaurants and some of the best historical architecture in Stark County. Take a bike ride on the towpath, drive down historical Fourth St., or take a walk along the shops downtown. Massillon is a great community and a great place to live.
